Hi, I'm Julia. I started growing my first baby in 2013, just a few months before I finished up my master’s degree in maternal and child health. I fondly remember the sweetness of feeling him grow inside me and the wonder and joy with which I approached his birth. I also remember wondering if I could do it (all of it) and yearning for community in this new phase of life.
In the decade since my first steps into motherhood, I’ve learned the value in trusting your instincts, accepting and giving support, and seeing each baby as the whole and unique person they are. Now, as a mother of four (two born in the hospital and two born at home), student midwife, doula, and La Leche League leader, I find some of my deepest joy in supporting other women as they transition to motherhood.
My philosophy centers around the knowledge that birth is perfectly designed by nature to prime both mother and baby to bond and thrive in one another’s arms and that birth has the power to transform.
I took the Bradley Method classes when I was pregnant with my first child in 2013 and am so excited to be able to share all of the wonderful information they contain with other growing families.
