My classes are full of "tools for your tool basket", as I like to say. I am so passionate about trying to give you the fullest picture of what giving birth may look like for you in this day and age, that I can't help but expound enthusiastically on all of the amazing information provided in the Student Workbook, alongside with visual aids and videos, analogies, personal experience and utilizing returning Bradley Class members for you to ask questions and gain encouragement.
The first few classes really help to lay a foundation for the normality of childbirth, in healthy, low risk mothers*, and help you to begin to gain confidence and diminish your fears about pregnancy, labor and delivery. We cover pregnancy nutrition, and exercises as well as relaxation techniques, which will all aid in the health of both mom and baby as you prepare for the athletic event of "giving birth".
As we move into introducing the stages of labor and delve deeper into what you might expect to experience and how best to handle situations, should they arise, you will also achieve greater understanding as we reveal this "mystery" of childbirth while gaining a broader level of confidence. We discuss our desires and priorities and learn to make informed decisions regarding the kind of care we might expect to receive.
There is so much more I could write...but I don't want to give it all away here!
Whether you are a first time parent or have given birth before, there is so much to be gained, and nothing to be lost, in taking this time to prepare and educate yourself, to the best of your ability, for this life changing event. Regardless of your intended outcome vs whatever your experience brings to you along the way, you will not be sorry for having set aside the time, weekly, to prepare your mind and body to welcome this long awaited new arrival(s) into your heart and your home.
Here's to your journey!
Congratulations:)
Please contact me by phone, text or email if you would like to talk or have any further questions I might hope to answer, even aside from just desiring more information on how to register for the series. Pregnancy and childbirth are two of my favorite things to talk about:)
*there is a wide variety in those who participate in these class series. Variances may include advanced maternal age, gestational diabetes, twins, other pre existing health conditions which may have you labeled "high risk". It is not to say that if you have any of these, that this Method cannot be of any benefit to you. In fact, much of what we teach, if followed, under Dr. supervision, can directly influence your overall health and contribute positively to your overall experience in both pregnancy and childbirth.....so, jump in!
