The Bradley Method® comprehensive class series will prepare you to give birth without unnecessary pain or harmful interventions, using the most successful method of natural childbirth in the world!
We will cover:
- Anatomy and physiology of pregnancy and birth
- Doctor or Midwife? How to select a caregiver
- Choosing a birth location: which hospitals supportive? Why homebirth?
- Medical terminology
- Nutritional guidance and exercise to help you feel great and stay low risk
- Training your husband/partner to be a highly skilled birth coach
- What is a doula? Do I need one?
- Discuss interventions that you may be offered during your pregnancy, labor and birth and their risks and benefits
- Pros and cons of pain-relieving medication during labor
- What to do if your doctor does not support your desires.
- Creating an effective birth plan
- Recognizing the stages of labor
- Water birth
- Newborn procedures? Are they all necessary?
- The importance of Bonding. What hospitals allow it?
- How to with family, friends, coworkers that do not agree with your desires.
- C-Sections and other variations or complications
- How to avoid post-Partum depression
- Breastfeeding basics, newborn care positive parenting.
· The course is set up as a 12-week group class, limited to a maximum of 6 couples in order to ensure personal attention from the instructor and encourage camaraderie between students. You will receive Bradley Method Student Workbook ®, weekly instruction in a fun and positive atmosphere.
You should plan to begin your classes no later than the 26th week of pregnancy to ensure that you have completed the entire 12-week series before your baby arrives.
