To say that birth has changed me would be an understatement. It has shaped the trajectory of my own life, and has left me with an unshakeable hope to change normal American birth culture from a scary, misunderstood process to an empowering and safe experience for all women everywhere.
My daughter, Marin's birth in August 2012 first lit the spark in my heart to do birth work. After the birth of my son, Isaac in 2014, I began doing doula work and teaching the Bradley Method. In 2018, I began my midwifery training and education. I celebrated its completion by having my third baby, Noah in March 2021. That same August, I became a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and licensed to practice midwifery at home in the state of Tennessee.
I find that my experiences and understanding of birth as a Mom, Bradley teacher, doula and midwife all lend themselves to our time in class. I am able to speak to the birth process from many different angles, and work to practically share how you can best navigate it together in a variety of settings. You will find I have boundless enthusiasm to support your family in having the best possible birth, and simultaneously, changing our culture's narrative one birth at a time.
“I appreciate how you have a good balance of being both professional and caring for your students. I think your intentional effort to educate us on all of our different needs and questions goes a long way. You care and want us to be equipped. I will definitely be recommending you to others!” - KC
