My Vision:
It is my goal that every woman who is expecting be educated in the natural processes of pregnancy, labor, and birth so that she is not scared, but is informed and capable of making her own choices and decisions about what is right for her and her baby.
My Story:
When I was pregnant with my first child I was scared. Like most of you probably have, I had heard horror stories of the pains of labor and birth. As I watched my waistband slowly expanding, I did not know if I was ready and able to give birth and be a mother. Then, a friend of mine who was taking classes clued me in- and changed my life.
I completed my first series and had a wonderful, natural birth with my son, Kyle. I started looking into becoming an instructor because I wanted to share this gift with other women who were in the same situation. While I was working on becoming an instructor, just weeks before my training actually, my daughter, Erin was born in a natural water birth. That just reaffirmed how badly I wanted to help other women to have this same awesome, life-changing experience instead of the alternative that so many friends of mine have had with medications. I have been teaching classes for nearly 20 years now, and have helped hundreds of couples have the birth experiences they wanted. I have attended over 1,300 births as an educator, doula, and midwife.
My Life Now:
I am currently a mom to my three kids, teaching
classes on Sundays, the owner of a baby boutique featuring clothing, books, cuddly toys and gifts, and an assistant midwife at a home birth midwifery practice. I also train birth doulas! I enjoy gardening, cooking, and reading, especially books of birth stories. I would love to have you in my class so that your birth story is a great one!

My Classes:
Please feel free to call anytime regarding my classes. I would love to talk to you!
My classes are held in the loft space above my store, A Baby Naturally, in downtown Wheaton on Sunday afternoons. The cost of the class is $450 and includes online access to the Student Workbook, a copy of "Husband-Coached Childbirth", a copy of "The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth", a copy of "Ina May's Guide to Childbirth", handouts and other goodies, guest speakers (including a breastfeeding class by Dr. Carol Chamblin, IBCLC, and returning students eager to share their stories), and 8 classes of approximately 3 hours each. Classes are interactive and allow for sharing and lots of visual aids and some videos are used. Each week, students take turns bringing a snack for our break, and we have a great time learning everything you need to know to have a great experience.
